Program Overview: Immersion in Aesthetic Dentistry and Adhesive Oral Rehabilitation

Over the course of four days, participants will have the opportunity to train at New York University under the guidance of three renowned international speakers in the field of Aesthetic Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation: Dr. Sidney Kina, Dr. Ronaldo Hirata, and Dr. Oswaldo Scopin.

The program combines theoretical instruction with hands-on training, enabling students to gain practical skills in ceramic veneer rehabilitation, as well as composite restorations for both anterior and posterior teeth, including endodontically treated teeth.

DAY 1

  • Conservative approach in restorative dentistry.
  • Composite resins: Current concepts.
  • Dental ceramics: Current concepts.

Afternoon Session: Dr. Oswaldo Scopin & Dr. Sidney Kina

  • Adhesive systems: Current concepts.
  • “Adhesive” ceramics: Applications in modern dentistry.
  • Tooth preparations for adhesive ceramic restorations: Minimally invasive concepts.

DAY 2

Morning Session: Dr. Sidney Kina

Hands-on: Tooth Preparations for Laminate Veneers

  • Conservative approach in restorative dentistry.
  • Fabrication of silicone guides for tooth preparations:
    • Mock-up  provisional guides.
    • Vestibular and proximal preparation guides.
    • Incisal preparation guide.
  • Mock-up creation using bisacrylic resin
  • Tooth preparation using the inverse technique:
    • How to mark spatial orientation on the mock-up.
    • Proximal access and determination of insertion path.
    • Cervical preparation: Chamfer vs. Vertical.
    • Incisal. preparation

Afternoon Session: Dr. Ronaldo Hirata

Hands-on: Anterior Reconstruction – Central Incisors

  • Material selection and layering technique.
  • Esthetics and function through direct restorations.

DAY 3

Morning Session: Dr. Ronaldo Hirata

Hands-on: Posterior Tooth Reconstruction – Indirect Technique.

  • Composite resins: Indications and applications in oral rehabilitation.
  • Material and technique integrated with function.

Afternoon Session: Dr. Oswaldo Scopin

Hands-on: Reconstruction of Endodontically Treated Teeth – Post Cementation

  • Contemporary endodontics in the digital era.
  • Restoration of endodontically treated teeth: when a post is required.
  • Internal dentin sealing after endodontic treatment.

DAY 4

Morning Session: Dr. Sidney Kina

Adhesive Cementation:

  • Acid-sensitive ceramic restorations: feldspathic, leucite-reinforced, and lithium disilicate.
  • Acid-resistant ceramic restorations: zirconium oxide.

Afternoon Session: Dr. Oswaldo Scopin

  • Strategies and clinical sequence in adhesive oral rehabilitation.
  • The impact of digital technology on restorative practices.
  • Clinical and laboratory workflow management.

Final Session: Dr. Sidney Kina, Dr. Ronaldo Hirata & Dr. Oswaldo Scopin
